: ''Brian Morris is also the name of a British politician and University educator, see Brian_Robert_Morris'' '''Brian Morris''' is a professor of Molecular_medical_sciences at the University_of_Sydney. As an academic, he publicly promotes scientific research findings in his areas of expertise, including molecular biology, high blood pressure, longevity, and Cervical_cancer screening. He has patents awarded in the USA, UK, Europe and Australia on use of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technology in detection of Human_papillomavirus (HPV) - the cause of 99% of cervical cancers - and is currently trying to bring this to the market in conjunction with a self-sampling procedure for women, so they can avoid the ordeal of a Pap smear. Human papillomavirus is sexually transmitted. Because cervical cancer is much higher in women whose male partner is uncircumcised, over the years Prof Morris has developed an interest and expertise in the medical benefits of Circumcision. He has produced a website which is a large on-line, fully referenced review of the medical scientific, health and sexual benefits of circumcision. He is also the author of the book 'In Favour of Circumcision', published by UNSW Press. He is controversial because he advocates circumcision despite not being a medical doctor and using the name of the University_of_Sydney despite the University not advocating his personal views. ==External links== * The official website of professor Brian Morris * Benefits of circumcision Brian Morris' website on circumcision {{academic-bio-stub}} Category:Internet_personalities
