This happens to me all the time! Don’t worry, it’s normal. I wake up panicking that I actually ate it lol. It’s Just your body/mind processing your desire to stay healthy.

Same thing happens to me lol. Had a dream the other day where I was in a candy store picking out the most delicious looking Godiva chocolates you ever did see. They even had a chocolate fountain 😂

I’ve been eating keto for five years and still have such dreams occasionally.

Yeah and is almost always an awkward social situation. I will be dreaming I am at a work function and get pressured into drinking beer or eating rubbish.

When I wake up I am briefly disgusted that I broke keto before I realize it was a dream.

Once before I was on keto but my roommate was; he said "I had a dream I ate all the banana bread in the fridge."

I go over to the sink and the container was in the sink. He slept ate like 5,000cal of banana bread lol.

I dream of eating carbs, and then at some point remember I am keto and freak out

You are not alone. I once had such a vivid dream of eating fistfuls of cake out of the fridge with my hands like an animal, that when I awoke, not only was I mortified at how gross I thought I was, but I had to run to the mirror to check my face and then downstairs to check the fridge to make absolutely sure that I really didn't gorge on a cake lol. The sad part is that I had been in keto for years when I had that dream and hadn't craved or eaten actual cake in a very long time at that point. Now I just look back and laugh, but the terror and self-loathing when I woke up from that dream was real lol.

I’ve been on this for roughly 3 months and most of my cravings have subsided but the other day I took a nap and dreamed I went to an all you can eat pasta place and stayed all day sampling every single kind of pasta they had. It was weird, I’ve never dreamt of pasta before.

At least you still get to enjoy carbs. Even if it is only in your dreams

Not dreams but nightmares.

For me keto is not a religion or some kind of vow. There has to be some balance between healthy and happy. 😁 There are some high carbs meals I want to have in my life such as good old bun with cheese, traditional bread, homemade pizza I make for my daughter, dumplings or some pasta. And yes, there are "keto equivalents" and I have no problem using a flat thin piece of veal as pizza bottom 😁 But equivalents give me equivalent of joy. So as much as I love keto, I just go with 12 weeks of keto and one week of higher carbs meals (OMAD) followed by 48-hour fast. Maybe it's something that will work for you.

I don't really like a lot of high carb foods, and I've never been one for dessert. But I have these dreams constantly. Last night it was several chocolate bars, the day prior, a cupcake cake (specifically, the icing, which I absolutely hate - to the point of a food aversion).

I actually get to taste the food in my dreams, and it tastes wonderful. Which is nice, because I don't enjoy any of this while awake. It's been close to 10 years since I've enjoyed cake, don't drink regular soda (I have no idea what Coke Classic tastes like) etc. In my dreams they're great.

I get them 10x worse after my TRT shots. Like clockwork, the 2nd-6th day after a shot, I'm dreaming of high calorie foods. Or if I go hypo in my sleep, which happens less frequently in keto than on a LC diet, but a few times a year.

For me, that stopped after a few months — right about the point where making good keto choices became automatic and not a mental struggle.
