I had a two hour video-call with Mangione, the suspected UnitedHealthcare CEO shooter, in May. He genuinely seemed like one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. After the chat he spontaneously bought me subscriptions to services he thought would help me with writing.

So? A lot of people thought Charles Manson was a great friendly guy.

Interesting to see commentary pointing to a psychotic break this summer but then hard to reconcile that with the seemingly clear headed, meticulous nature of the shooting. I’m sure we’ll learn more, but there is certainly some warranted fascination surrounding Luigi Mangione.

A lot of early theories involve chronic back pain from an accident/surgery and psychedelics. Do you remember if he mentioned either?

Have we stopped searching because a “person of interest” is identified? I mean, I still wonder if this is the guy. I say this because initial pictures released immediately after the ass*ssination show the suspect wearing a jacket that has no pockets on the front. In the pictures they keep showing now, Luigi’s jacket does have pockets on the front. Would he be such a deft and capable ass*ssin and still take his mask down… to flirt? Of course, he could have changed his outfit, but… why change his outfit to the exact same thing that is so similar? Fall guy?
