It looks like the experiment started around November 11 based on publish dates. For now, it's a small-scale test as we only see 72 results disclosed as written by AI.

And it looks like Google is not giving a shit about it, rewarding several of these pages with great search traffic. Soooo.. Is AI content ok now? 🤔 I'd love to hear your thoughts below.

I saw something yesterday about Bankrate doing this, too. Everyone's panicking about if it does/doesn't work. While the big dogs go 'what the hell?' and do it anyway. They're big enough to absorb the risks of doing this IMO. Smaller brands... not so much.

They're still being cautious. They're 2 months into it and "only" released 70 pages. It's a small-scale test to see what happens for now, and we should follow the results too because it will define the future of content publishing/blogging.

Oh, that’s interesting. Of course, AI content will work if everything is correct and fact-checked. Some topics require more personal stories and hands-on testing; some don’t. 🤷‍♂️

Only time will tell. In their case the site has mega authority, and although I'm convinced that Google can detect AI if they choose to, I'm not currently convinced it's the primary signal that gets content de-ranked. I've looked at sites that were definitely 100% AI and 100%

delisted. But these are people trying to start new sites, publish 1,000 articles a month, etc.

Also, you know, AI Content doesn't bother me nearly as much if it's disclosed. So credit goes to them for being open about it. What bothers me is AI content that isn't labeled as such.

AI content will likely work for these large site due to existing trust. Newbie sites will likely get smoked.
